J. Mark Hattendorf is the founder and CEO. He leads all major engagements and is actively involved with each assignment. His career encompasses 40+ years of business, financial, and operating experiences holding titles of Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Board Member/Audit Committee Chair. He is frequently assisted by colleagues with similar experiences and backgrounds.
As a senior business executive and/or board member, Hattendorf has addressed a number of complex and unusual business activities and has participated in a number of transactions resulting in shareholder value realization events.
He is familiar with board level activity, executive management issues, SEC registration reporting requirements, etc. having served as the senior finance officer with a number of public entities including Broderbund Software, Acclaim Entertainment, Herbalife International Inc. and 20th Century Fox Film Corp. He is conversant with corporate governance/Sarbanes Oxley/Foreign Corrupt Practice Act issues and has served as an independent director for two public companies.
His dealings with private entities and their boards have included Sialix Inc. (glycobiology research), Prodigy Services Company (internet based, consumer/focused), while owned by IBM/Sears; AllApartments.com. (internet based/consumer focus); Questlink Technology ( internet based/electrical engineer focus); Hydril Company (energy industry) and EWI Holdings Inc. (electronic payment processor purchased by Safeway in 2007).
As an excellent leader, team builder and mentor, he is comfortable working with highly energetic, venture backed organizations and their leadership in addressing situations requiring immediate attention.
Mr. Hattendorf began his career as a Certified Public Accountant in Los Angeles and earned his undergraduate (BS Accounting) and graduate (MBA) degrees from Loyola Marymount University. Most recently he has been a faculty member at Loyola Marymount University teaching entrepreneurship and leading teams in national venture competitions.
